Tibetan yaks can weigh up to 1,200 kg (2,600 lb) and have a head and body length of 3 to 3.4 m (9.8 to 11 ft). Their habitat is treeless uplands such as hills, mountains and plateaus between 3,200 and 5,400 m (10,000 and 18,000 ft). It is a partly domesticated animal. Besides looking for the natural green grass as food, it also looks for the natural medical plants such as Cordyceps, wild Radix Notoginseng, bulb of fritillary, and so on. Therefore the yak bone calcium is the mankind’s most ideal necessities. Local Tibetans consider yak bone chopsticks to be very precious gift.
